Who Karb AI Are

Karb AI is a marketing intelligence platform that helps businesses get more from their Meta ad spend. Users connect their ad accounts and get clear audits, optimisation insights, and AI-driven recommendations so they can see what’s working, what’s wasting budget, and what to do next.

Background

Karb AI was founded by someone with deep experience in performance marketing but a non-technical background. They had a clear vision for the product - informed by years of hands-on ad management - but nothing built. They had secured a Techstart grant to fund the initial development, and needed a technical partner who could help them turn that domain expertise into a working product that customers could sign up to and pay for.

The Problem

Karb AI had plenty of ideas for what the product could be, but needed to make sharp decisions about what to build first. The Meta Ads API is complex, with its own constraints on what data you can access and how. The Facebook app review process - required to access user ad account data - was another unknown, with no guarantee of approval and limited clarity on what Meta would expect. On top of that, the team had a long list of potential features and needed help cutting through to the ones that would matter most at launch.

They needed a partner who could help them think through all of this and then actually build the thing.

The Objective

Take the Karb AI concept from an idea with grant funding to a live, paying SaaS product.

What I Delivered

I worked with the Karb AI team across the full journey from concept to launch:

Research and design

We started with extensive competitor research to understand the landscape and identify where Karb AI could differentiate. From there, I ran design and brainstorming sessions to shape what the product would look like, how users would interact with it, and which features to prioritise for launch.

Full platform build

I built the full SaaS platform end-to-end: account creation, Stripe subscription billing, Meta ad account integration, performance audits, optimisation insights, reporting, and an AI layer that analyses all of a user’s Meta ads data and gives specific recommendations to improve Return on Ad Spend (ROAS). The platform also includes AI-powered creative tools that generate brand-aligned ad copy and product imagery with text overlays, across a range of aspect ratios ready for different placements.

Meta app review

To access user ad account data, the platform needed to pass Facebook’s app review process. I handled this end-to-end, including recording demo videos and preparing the required documentation.

Launch and ongoing support

I supported the team through launch and continue to work with Karb AI as the business grows, helping prioritise next steps and shape the product roadmap.

Outcome

  • Karb AI went from an idea with no product to a live SaaS platform that customers can sign up to and use.
  • The platform successfully passed Facebook’s app review process, giving users the ability to connect their Meta ad accounts directly.
  • One pilot user moved their Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) from 4.8x to 19x within a week of using the platform.
Chart showing ROAS climbing from around 4.8x to 19x over a four-month period as optimisation opportunities were acted on
  • Karb AI now has multiple paying customers who are finding the platform exceptionally useful.
  • I continue to work with the team as the product evolves and the business scales.
